Rebecca Johannsen has been acting since age 7, when her mother forced her to take theatre classes to help overcome her shyness. It stuck. Rebecca attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, and continued her training through her Master’s in Theatre from SDSU and her Ph.D. in Theatre from UC Irvine. She’s also constantly taken courses and participated in improv to continue her training in the craft.

Women at War Devised, co-directed, and performed by Rebecca Johannsen
‘Women at War’ is a devised theatre piece using interviews of members of the US military’s Female Engagement Teams (FET) about their experiences in combat before women were allowed to be in combat. Part documentary theatre, part experimental, the newly expanded 4-character show created by and starring Rebecca Johannsen is currently being workshopped at CSU San Marcos and a professional production will tour the US in 2019.
